Goodbye & Hello--Tanya chua.



I've taken interest in this singer in recent years especially.
From her 陌生人, Beautiful Love, and 原點.
To her recent album "Goodbye and Hello".

Thanks to sia, we got tix to watch Tanya Chua sing at St. James, Dragonfly.
Me, sia, deslyn. Met charlene and her friend there too.
Charlene was super high, as usual.


The stage, the lights, the atmosphere.
(i feel like clubbing)


Disco ball. The lights are pretty.


Sia insisted they are DNA. But they look more like cigarettes really.


Tanya and tanya.
She was all bright and cheery. Her smile and her laughter is very contagious.


I've heard on radio how she packed up everything here in Singapore and moved to Taiwan. Alone. How she ended an online relationship and wrote songs inspired by that. And how she stopped writing songs about others, and started writing songs about herself. Her relationships, her emotions, her life.

And i think that's a crucial turning point in her songwriting.
To step out and just be herself. Being real. 這樣才能感動到人.



She has alot of stage presence.
Could tell that she enjoys performing/singing to people.


She sang 當你離開的時候，達爾文，晨間新聞，空白格，Beautiful Love, and 陌生人 for encore. When she sang, everyone just listened quietly, and dwelled in the whole atmosphere of the song. LiYi phrased it well, saying, "我們深怕每一個呼吸 或發出的每一個怪聲音 會破壞掉整首歌。"



Yupps, LiYi was the host for the day.



i look forward to hearing more good songs by Tanya Chua.
So proud that she's a Singaporean. :)
